Ellie, Stephanie, and Alexa,
We had the privilege of knowing Chris both in his professional life as a brilliant surgeon, and personally, as a true citizen pif humanity. His teaching, caring and love will be carried forward by all of you, the patients he cared for, and the students, trainees and other healthcare workers he educated and who amplify his great work.

Ellie, I was shocked and am saddened by the news of Chris' death. He was a dear friend and though we would only meet occasionally these last years - whenever we did meet, it was like we had just seen each other the day before. He was truly a rare compassionate, sensitive and incredible human being. I am so grateful to have known. My prayers are with you and the girls.

My heartfelt condolences to the Tzarnas family. I worked for Dr. Tzarnas or Chris as he asked us to call him, for some 20 years. He not only mentored me and made me a better nurse, he taught me the value of pride in your work. He was a kind, gentle, genius in the plastic surgery community. I cannot believe he is gone so soon. Rest in peace Chris, you gave many a smile.Sincerely Cindy Shaiko-Maltese.

As neighbors for 22 years, we always admired and respected Chris for his kindness, gentleness, friendship, hospitality, and occasional emergency medical treatments! We will miss him, but he will always be remembered fondly.
To Ellie, Stephanie, and Alexa, you can celebrate his wonderful life by bravely carrying on the way he would want you to.

It was a pleasure working for Dr. Tzarnas for 17 years. He was a good Program Director for the Surgery Residency Program and Director of the Dept. of Surgery at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. He knew his job well and was very dedicated to scholarly activity. He made it so easy to come to work everyday and do my job. Thank you so much for that Dr. Tzarnas. My condolences to you Ellie and your family.
