Obituary Condolences

ANTHONY J. BIELSKI, 88, OF COLLEGEVILLE Anthony J. Bielski, 88, husband of the late Irene D. (Winters) Bielski, of Collegeville, PA, formerly of Spring City, PA died late Sunday evening, April 7, 2013 in the home of his daughter in Collegeville. Born in Poland, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanislaus Bielski. He attended school in Poland, and was also a member of the Polish Underground Army during World War II. He also spent time training German Shepherd dogs with the United States Army in Europe. Mr. Bielski came to live in America in 1957. He worked at the Philadelphia Gear Company in King of Prussia for many years as a machinist. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Spring City. More recently, he attended St. Eleanors R.C. Church in Collegeville with his daughter. Mr. Bielski enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed exploring antique sales and restoring antique furniture. Mr. Bielski also had the honor of telling the story of his involvement with the Holocaust through Survivors of the Shoah, an organization founded by Steven Spielberg to provide a permanent archive for the remembrance of the events that occurred during that time in history. Mr. Bielski is survived by one daughter' Joanne M., wife of Damien C. Drewicz of Collegeville, and two granddaughters, Kathlyn M. and Grace E. Drewicz, both at home in Collegeville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at the St. Eleanor's R.C. Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426 on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Ann's Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received from 9 - 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse, 1800 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.
