ROBERT B. HOPKINS, 76, OF ROYERSFORD Robert B. Hopkins, 76, husband of M. Jeanette (Deery) Hopkins, of Royersford, died early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2011 in his home. Born in Lansdale, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Elfreda (Molzen) Hopkins. He attended the Pottstown High School. A veteran, Mr. Hopkins served for the U.S. Army, 1st Infantry Division. Mr. Hopkins took classes in the evening at the International Correspondence School in Scranton, receiving his machinist papers in 1966. He became a machinist and tool maker, working for the Uniform Tube Company for many years. In his retirement, Mr. Hopkins worked in the grounds department of the former Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Providence. He was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Phoenixville. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Mr. Hopkins is survived by one daughter, Jennifer H., wife of Christopher J. Walsh, of Lewisberry, PA; one son, David A., husband of Jennifer M. (Trentowski) Hopkins, of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren, Benjamin J. Walsh and Michael B. Walsh, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Cynthia L. Krommes. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Saturday morning at the Church in the fireside room. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to St. John's at the above address.
