Alvin E. Dean Jr.
Virginia Beach - Alvin E. Dean Jr., 53, went to be with the Lord on Dec.19, 2012. He was born on November 15, 1959 in Chula Vista, California. Alvin was a graduate of Kempsville High School and Old Dominion University. He was a senior software engineer and performed as a defense contractor in support of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. He deployed with the USS John F. Kennedy and the USS Saratoga. Alvin was formerly employed by Nuvonics Corp as a software engineer. He was a member of Victory Church in Portsmouth where he played guitar and taught bible classes.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved parents, Alvin E. Dean Sr. and Katherine Dean; and his former wife, Joan Dean and their two daughters, Kristen and Nancy; and other loving aunts, uncles and family members.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach officiated by Pastor Fred Brockhousen of Courthouse United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. You may offer your condolences to the family at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com.
