Douglas A. Leard

Norfolk - Douglas A. Leard of Norfolk, Va. passed away at the age of 88 on April 29, 2014. Mr. Leard was Born in Plantation, Florida on February 5, 1926 to Douglas A. Leard and Mary Minor Diggs Leard.

He leaves behind his loving wife of sixty four years, Barbara McDonald Leard, daughter Lynne Moore, six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in this life by his sister Mary Douglas Phillips and daughter Ann Patricia Diggs. He was a World War II Veteran who loved gardening, a retired independent businessman who was active in his church All Saints Episcopal in Southern Shores, North Carolina. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Monday May 5, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. The family will receive friends at their home following services. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements.
