Christopher S. Dow
Virginia Beach - Christopher Scott Dow, 30, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away peacefully on February 18, 2013. A native of the Tidewater area he was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital on October 28, 1982. A lover of fine food fare, Xbox, his family and friends and anything fun… he is the "DaBombDow". In 2001, he graduated salutatorian with honors from Fork Union Military Academy in Charlottesville, VA and in 2010, received his Bachelor in Arts in Religious Studies from University of Virginia. Chris was employed by Premier Appraisal Group in Chesapeake, Virginia. Chris had a generous and loving spirit, an infectious laugh and a sarcastic wit that was loved by most and which always came from the heart.
Chris is survived by his parents Scott Vincent Dow and his wife Patty of Clinton, CT, his mother Julia A. Hillier of Virginia Beach and his sister Mary Reedy and her husband Mark Reedy and three nieces, Madison, Hanna, and Natalie Reedy all of Jackson Mississippi, his maternal grandparents, Charles and Jean Geddes of Milford, CT, his paternal grandparents George Dow of CT and Shirley Sullivan of Virginia Beach VA, his uncles John Geddes, Charles Geddes and wife Dee, his aunt Isabel Debowski, her husband Derek and cousins Derek and Anna, his aunt Jane Youngblood and his cousin Joseph, aunt Patricia German and her husband Ian and their children Drew, Rachel, and Charlie, aunt Kelly Bob, her husband John and three cousins Samantha, Andrew and Emily. His step-sister Amy Wiltsie, and step-brothers TJ Doherty Jr. and Patrick Doherty. In addition, Chris had an extended family of great aunts and uncles, and several cousins and friends throughout the United States and Europe.
Funeral arrangements are with the HD Oliver Funeral Apartments Laskin Road Chapel, 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Calling hours for family and friends will be Friday, February 22, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Laskin Road Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the same location.

It was a privilege to coach Chris for four years at FUMA. He was a big part of much of the success here at the time. We were equally proud of him after his time at FUMA. The Dow family is in our prayers.

To all of Chris's family and friends, I send you my condolences. Chris was my "little brother" in our fraternity at UVA and also my college roommate for one year back in 2002-03. As this obituary states, he truly had an infectious laugh and I can still picture him cooking us some awesome late night snacks on random nights in our kitchen. May you rest in peace Chris.
