James, Robert - Portsmouth  
Robert James Portsmouth - Robert E. "Bob" James, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. He was born in Crewe, VA and was the son of the late Garland James and Elizabeth James Major. He was also preceded in death by his nephew Steven Farris Sr. and his partner and friend Bill Payne. Bob was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and The College of William and Mary. He served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Betty J. Harrison; his niece Sharon F. Hodges; his nephews Michael W. Farris and Jim Harrison; extended family; and Bill Payne's sons Chris and Pat. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bon Secours Nursing Home for Bob's care. To respect his wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery.

Jamison, Geary Lee - Norfolk  
Geary Lee Jamison Norfolk - Norfolk- Geary Lee "Pop" Jamison of the 500 block of Louisa St. passed away April 9, 2015. Born in Berkley, he was a member of Tabernacle of God Holiness Church. He was predeceased by his parents, Blanche Lucille Jamison and Euris Lee Jamison; brother, Michael Jamison; sons, Gary Jordan and Leonard Jamison. Left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Lindora Jamison and Denisha Jamison; one son, Rashad Slater; four sisters, Vivian S. White (Berl), Debbie Fields (Anthony), Sandra Hunt (Stan) and Vanessa McNeil (Derwin); four brothers, Willie L. Jamison (Regenia), Reonald L. Jamison (Margaret), David Jamison (Marsha) and Clarence D. Jamison (Cynthia); eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held, 11am, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Tabernacle of God Holiness Church in Norfolk with Elder Derwin McNeil officiating. Burial will take place at Roosevelt Memorial Park. A viewing will be held, 12-8pm Wednesday at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Chapel.

Jennings III, John S. - Chesapeake  
John S. Jennings, III Chesapeake - John Samuel "Sam" Jennings,III, 39, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2015, after a courageous 17 month battle with colon cancer. He was a dedicated employee of Walsh Tops, Inc. for nearly 20 years. Sam was an amazing man who had an inspiring love for the Lord, his family, and baseball, especially his New York Yankees! Sam impacted the lives of so many in his 39 years of life and the memory of him and the joy he brought to this world will live on through the many people he touched along the way. He was SAMSTRONG & GODSTRONG! Sam is survived by his wife, Kelly Burke Jennings; two sons, Blake and Sean; his parents, John and Brenda Jennings; Grandfather John Jennings; Uncle "Buck" Ken and Aunt Pam Riddleberger; Uncle Donnie and Dawn Renee Jennings; Father-in-Law Dennis C. Burke; Brothers-in-Law Brian Burke and Kevin Burke; and countless other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Lillie Riddleberger; Uncle Bill Riddleberger; Grandmother Lucy Jennings; and Mother-in-Law Blakely G. Burke. A funeral service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 2956 Ansol Lane, Virginia Beach, VA on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. with internment to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth, VA at 1p.m. Visitation will be at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Please visit his book of memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence to the family. Johnson, Thomas Lane - Virginia Beach  
Thomas Lane Johnson Virginia Beach - Thomas Lane Johnson, 72, passed away on April 6, 2015 in Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester, MN. Born in North Carolina, he was the owner of Heritage Natural Market Store and a member of ARE. He supported Fellowship of Inner Light and many different organizations including Edgar Caycee Readings. He touched the lives of many people throughout the world. He was spiritual and peaceful. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Honey Bee Johnson; daughter, Jennifer Shipp and son, Christopher Johnson, both of Virginia Beach; brother, George Johnson of Delaware and eight grandchildren, Virginia, Caroline and George Shipp, Andrew, Ashley, Kallen, Christina and Matthew Johnson. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Nimmo United Methodist Church. Jones, Blondina M. - Norfolk  
Blondina M. Jones Norfolk - Blondina M. Jones, 53, went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2015. She was born on August 13, 1961 in Norfolk, VA. Blondina graduated from Norfolk Public Schools. She worked as a dispatcher for MV Transportation for six years and was a member of Holy Temple UHC. Blondina was predeceased by her mother, Marybelle Wilkins; two brothers, Robert M. Marshall, Jr. and Barry Marshall and one sister, Roxanne Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda D. Redmond; father, Robert M. Marshall, Sr; seven sisters, Brenda D. Freeman, Jacqueline Rogers, Gwanda Boykins, Delores Damag, Wanda Williamson, Marlene Williams and Gwanda Smith; two brothers, Johnny Marshall and Robert Marshall; three grandchildren, Amya, Ayanna and Charles Redmond, III and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of her life will be held, 11am, Monday, April 20, 2015 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Chapel, Elder Maggie Pierce, eulogist. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Peggie R. Jones Suffolk - Peggie Rountree Jones, 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Presley L. and Mamie Weaver Rountree. She was also predeceased by her husband, R. Ernest Jones and a sister, Ruth P. Cutchin. Peggie was a lifelong resident of Nansemond County, having dedicated over 30 years of employment to Suffolk Public Schools and was a member of Somerton Friends Meeting. She is survived by her children, Bert Jones and his wife, Denise, Joanne Gibble and husband, Jay, and Charlotte Hesse and husband, Rich; grandchildren, Jennifer Sneeringer and husband, Donald, Zach Jones, Kate Jones, Ryan Gibble, Heather Lewis and husband, Justin, Emily Hesse, and Andy Hesse; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Cooper, and Peyton; sister, Doris Glenn. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Norman March officiating. Alfredo Josue, Sr. Chesapeake - Alfredo "Joe" Josue, Sr., 90, passed away in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, April 10, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan Faye Josue; two sons, Joe Josue (Vicki), and Bo Josue; two daughters, Sandra Cantrell (Mike), and Susan Dunlow (Mickey); eight grandchildren, Damon (Carolyn), Beau, Austen (Jennifer), Jarrin (Jessica), Devyn (Joshua), Collen (Tanya), Noel, and Mason (Kristen); and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Josue, and his grandson, Nathan Josue.
