Padon, Walter E. - Virginia Beach  
Walter E. Padon Virginia Beach - Walter Emerson Padon, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Walter was a life-long resident of Virginia Beach. He worked on many of the local military bases as a civil servant and retired in 1977 from the Dam Neck Naval facility. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach, a 60 year member of Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge 274, a 60 year member of the Khedive Shrine, a 60 year member of the Eastern Star, member of the Scottish Rites Bodies, Royal Arch, and the Virginia Beach Shrine Club. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rachel Hildebran Padon; his cousins, Leggett and Connie Capps, and Donald Comegys, and many great friends, including Peggy and Bill Bundy, Bill and Dorsey Gurley, Chad White, and John and Linda Taylor. He was predeceased by his father, John Cleveland Padon; mother, Mary Leggett Padon; brother, Herbert A. Padon and nephew, William A. Padon. Walter dearly loved his wife Rachel. He enjoyed life and had the greatest sense of humor. He loved the Lord and saw His creation in all of nature. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 1264 N. Great Neck Rd. on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 6:30 p.m. The funeral will be conducted by Dr. Steve Gupton at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach, 35th St. and Holly Rd. Entombment will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach, the Grand Commandry of Virginia, the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Grice Commandry Number 16, Khedive Shrine Temple or the Norfolk Scottish Rite Foundation. Shirley G. Parks Portsmouth - Shirley G. Parks, 76, of Churchland, passed away April 12, 2015. She was born in Lohrville, IA, and was the daughter of the late Austin and Gladys Gray. Shirley is survived by her husband of 52 years, E. Ray Parks; two sons, Ted Parks and Brian Parks; daughter-in-law, Sue Griffin and husband Ronnie; brother-in-law, Larry Parks; and five grandchildren, Shad & Michael Parks, Meghan, Ben & Andrew Parks. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Hwy. Parsons, Sandra (Sandy) - Virginia Beach  
Sandra (Sandy) Parsons Virginia Beach - Sandra (Sandy) Lee Parsons passed away on Wednesday April 15th 2015. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 48 years William (Bill) Parsons; her two sons John Parsons of Virginia Beach, Keith and his wife Cherie Parsons of Lacrosse, Virginia; six grandchildren: John Parsons Jr. of Roslyn Pa., Kyle, Kimberly, Nicole, and their mother Pam Parsons, all of Virginia Beach; Abigayle Parsons and Hannah Parsons of Lacrosse, Va. Three great grandchildren: Taylor Parsons of Virginia Beach, Finn and Alyssa Parsons of Roslyn, Pa. She is also survived by her brother Eddie Kniss of Port St.Lucie, Fla and her sister Jill Bickhart and her husband K.C. of Gettysburg, Pa . Sandra (Sandy) Parsons was a retired Virginia Beach school bus driver after more than 27 years. She was a long standing member of the Virginia Beach Aragona Moose Lodge # 684 where she served for more than 25 years joining the Women of the Moose, the college of regents and the academy of friendship. She was also a member of the American Legion post #201 in Sunbury, Pa and more than a 20 year member of post #292 VFW Women Auxiliary of Virginia Beach. Services will be provided for family and friends by the women of the Moose at the Aragona Moose Lodge #684 on Sunday, April 19th, at 2:00 p.m.

Constance S. Parvin YORKTOWN, VA - Constance A. Parvin, 70, passed away on April 16, 2015. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Evelyn Spasaro. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Parvin, Sr. and son, Charles E. Parvin, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Angela Parvin; brothers, Gary and Bennie Spasaro and nephew, Matt Spasaro. Peele Sr., Raymond - Norfolk  
Raymond Peele, Sr. Norfolk - We have known much grief and sorrow, but so much more happiness, joy and love as we recall the precious life of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, closest friend and confidant. Raymond was the second child born to the late Raymond Peele and Roxanna Peele on June 19, 1922 in Plymouth, North Carolina. On Tuesday evening, April 14, 2015 he departed this life peacefully in his house surrounded by loved ones. His wife Ada, brother Herman Peele, father, mother son, Raymond Peele Jr., and grandson Timothy Peele preceded him in death. Raymond attended school in Plymouth, North Carolina and entered the military and retired as a disabled veterans Raymond's Military life brought him to Norfolk, Virginia where he met and subsequently married his beautiful bride of 68 years, Ada on August 29 1942. The union was blessed with six children, two of which died prematurely. After leaving the military Raymond continued his career in Civil Service. Upon retiring from the Naval Base Raymond began another career as a Bondsman. Raymond loved his family and his family loved him. We were taught that family is important and we must be there for one another at all times no matter the situation. Family, friends and acquaintances affectingly call him Big Raymond, Big Red, Pa- Pa, granddaddy, and "That's all Right." Raymond was noted for his green thumb. He cherished growing his greens in his garden and was known for raising the largest cucumbers around. Several cucumbers were actually 3 feet long. When visiting his home you often left with a bag of his collard greens from his garden. Raymond leaves behind his daughters Patricia Peele Wilkins and Yvonne Peele Wagner; a son, Richard Peele; grandsons Raymond Peele, III and Ronald Johnson; granddaughters, Jevone Whidbee(Felix), Jessica Wagner-Cowan(Matthew), Rayna Rainey, Rebecca Peele; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host a host of relatives and friends. The Peele family expresses their deepest appreciation for all your prayers, condolences words of comfort flowers. A special thank you to Dr. Sherry Scheib and the Dedicated Care team; also a special thanks to the Sentara Hospice team for the outstanding services rendered. The viewing will be held April 20 from 2-8pm and a wake from 6-7pm at Riddick Funeral Service, the funeral will be conducted April 21, 12noon at Campostella Heights SDA, burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Marie H. Peoples Chesapeake - Marie H. Peoples, 76, passed away April 15, 2015 in her home. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie H. and Mary E. Hale. She was also predeceased by her son, Steve Peoples. She was a retired hair stylist after 50 years and a member of Parkway Christian Center, Chesapeake, VA. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Bobbie W. Peoples; son, Charles Peoples and wife Patti of Bowling Green, OH; two daughters, Lorrie Bailey and husband James of Chesapeake, Kathryn Chaney and husband Ernest of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Rebecca, Kathleen, and Ashley; four great grandchildren, Shealee, Denim, Laylah and Hannah; and an aunt, Barbara Bailey of Virginia Beach. Pittman, James A. - Virginia Beach  
James A. Pittman Virginia Beach - James Alton Pittman, 83, left his earthly home on Sunday, April 19th to be with his Father and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where he is rejoicing. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Helen Edwards Pittman: his children, Carolyn Pittman Halstead, Thomas Alton Pittman and wife Susan, Gerald Wayne Pittman and wife Lori, and Norma Pittman Dunagan; grandchildren, Beth, Chase, Sarah and husband Kenny, Gerald Jr., and Kori; great-grandchildren, Madison, Kaydence, Zeke, Dustyn, and Carsyn; sisters, Frances Burgress, Becky Dillon, and Anne Lile and husband Raymond; his cousin, Joe Hancock and wife Kitty; his nieces, Teresa Erickson and Cindy Adair, and numerous others cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Percy and Corrine Pittman; a sister Jeanette, and brothers, Eugene, Randolph, Arthur Lee, and Lawrence. He served in the Army in the fifties. He retired from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Mackey Island National Wildlife Refuge where he received several awards for his hard work and dedication. Daddy loved to restore old tractors and work in his very organized garage. He could fix anything. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and in many other positions through the years. Every Sunday he would select a bible verse and share it with the children's class. He always let everyone know that Jesus loved them and taught his grandchildren and great-children the song Jesus Loves Me. We will all be together again because of his example, guidance, and leadership. The family would like to thank those who helped to care for Daddy over the past year; Tracy, Nicole, and a very special God-Send to us all, Jamie. Please join the family for a Celebration of His Life on Thursday, April 23rd at 3:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Moseley officiating. In honor of Daddy's love for sweets, there will be a desserts reception in the church social hall, immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to a mission church that some of our family is involved with, Calvary Baptist Church 801 Riverside Ave Elizabeth City NC 27909 or to the Creeds Volunteer Rescue Squad. Polli, Richard - Virginia Beach  
Richard Polli Virginia Beach - Richard Polli, 68, went to be with the Lord April 18, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of six, he was the son of the late Romeo and Carmela Polli. He was a registered Landscape Architect in which he won many awards for his designs. He traveled the world and loved nature and the outdoors, with a strong appreciation for all living creatures. He was an excellent photographer and wood worker among many other talents. Richard was a devout Christian with a deep love for the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend as well as a joyous person to be around. He was always there to lend a helping hand, putting others needs before his own. He was predeceased by his siblings Loretta, Dorothy and Randolph. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 29 years, Jeanne Polli; son, Daniel Polli of Richmond, VA; daughters, Amanda Polli and Theresa Spelman, both of Queens, NY; sisters, Miriam Katsikis of Culpepper, VA and Mildred Haskell of North Port, FL; mother-in-law, Alice Miccio of Long Island, NY, many brother- and sister-in-laws; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the funeral home chapel.
