Sanders Jr., H.B. Sparky - Virginia Beach
H.B. Sparky Sanders, Jr. Virginia Beach - On March 27, 2015, God called H. B. "Sparky" Sanders, Jr. to his eternal home in heaven. He was a Univ. of S. Carolina (Pi Kappa Phi) grad and a loyal supporter of his fighting Gamecocks. Sparky was an avid golfer and a member of Bow Creek Men's Golf Association for 30+ years. He proudly earned four holes in one at courses in Va. Beach and NC. Hunting and fishing in Pungo with his two sons during their younger years was his delight. Sparky was a general contractor and introduced the profession to both boys. Son of the late H. B. "Sparky", Sr. and Ruby Sanders of Conway SC, he is survived by his wife, Marny of 51 years, their sons, Brandon (Selina) and Kevin Sanders, and one sister, Jane Adams of Satellite Beach, FL. He was a doting grandfather to Madison (Brady) Witter and Zoey and Ryder Sanders. He loved making them laugh, and they entertained him with their many "plays and performances." They all built special memories spending quality time together outside. Also, he loved and enjoyed his many pets, especially his last black lab, Bogey. After being confined to his home, he truly missed attending services at his church, Tabernacle UMC. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31 from 6 to 8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Va. Beach. Services will be conducted by Pastor Jack Davis, Wednesday, April 1 at 11 am, Tabernacle UMC, 1265 Sandbridge Rd, Va. Beach 23456. Burial will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Missions at Tabernacle UMC or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at: www.altmeyer.com . A good man obtains favor from the Lord. (Proverbs 12:2)

Sciandra, Jessica Rose - Virginia Beach
Jessica Rose Sciandra Virginia Beach - Jessica Rose Sciandra (nee Warren), 38, passed suddenly on March 16, 2015. Jessica's life blazed like a bonfire in the darkness and warmed the hearts and minds of all of those that new her. She loved those she knew with incredible intensity; she forged bonds that will far exceed her all too-brief time on this earth with family and with friends both old and new. Jessica will always be our daughter, our sister, our mother, our best friend, a comfort when we are down, a random picture sent to make us laugh, a shoulder to cry on, a long-ago story shared to make us giggle. Jessica led us through life and taught us to have fun. Jessica is survived by her loving children, Tyler and Isabella, her parents Paul and Rita, her sisters Paula and Kimmy, her brother Greg, her grandparents Charlie and Ruby, her boyfriend Bob, and friends both old and new. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those seeking to make donations to do so on behalf of Jessica's children by depositing at any Navy Federal Credit Union, under the name Jessica Rose Sciandra. A Celebration of Jessica's Life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015, 12:00 Noon at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home by Celebrant Sondra Holmes.
