Carroll, Jacqueline J. - Virginia Beach
Jacqueline J. Carroll Virginia Beach - Jacqueline "Jackie" Jill Carroll, 69, leveled up in daughter's home on June 27, 2015 while surrounded by her loving supporters. Jackie was born on All Hallow's Eve in 1945 in the great state of Washington to Adrian "Bud" Bullard and Madeline "Mardy" Bullard. She traveled as far as London before her parents decided to settle in California for her youngest years. Her family eventually colonized Virginia, where she graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk. She naively joined the Army during the Vietnam era and quickly learned that military life wasn't for her. She left on good terms and turned to nuclear medicine, a slightly less terrifying field. She traveled to Washington, D.C. before realizing her heart was in Virginia. In 1976, she met a dashing man of Irish and American-Indian heritage named Max Carroll. Together, they had one incredibly beautiful, talented, and intelligent daughter named Shelly. Jackie spent a large chuck of the life corralling children in the public school setting. Jackie is now surrounded by her parents and sisters, her husband Max, their many cats and dogs, and their granddog, Kali. She is survived by her spectacular daughter, Shelly Shum; her too-smart-for MENSA son-in-law, Joshua Shum; her ditzy but fabulously dressed granddaughter, Rachel, and one chunky monkey great-granddaughter. Her second family was at Michael's, and they still strive to be as awesome as her. The Celebration of the life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of a warrior, gardener, fixer-of-all-things, headstrong, spunky player in the game of life. Condolences may be offered to the family at: www.hollomon-brown.com
