Chesapeake - Annie Mae Benton Boomhower, 86, of the 1900 block of Athens Ct. Chesapeake, died January 27, 2014 in her home. Annie Mae was born in Norfolk County the daughter of the late Lydon Benton and Hilda Bernard Benton. She was a 1945 graduate of Deep Creek High School.

She was predeceased by her daughter Patricia Ann Boomhower. Survivors include her husband of 64 years Herbert E. "Eddie" Boomhower and a son Herbert Lydon Boomhower of Chesapeake. She is also survived by her sister Mary Fox, three nieces; Mary Ann Roughton, Carol Ussury, Linda Booth and a nephew Hilton "Buddy" Roughton all of Thomaston, Georgia.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday January 31, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Portsmouth by the Reverend Michael Cofer. The family will receive friends at the Chesapeake Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.hdoliver.com
