Virginia Beach - On June 8, 2013, Betty Camille Woodard Johnson passed away in Virginia Beach. She was born in Portsmouth, Va. on February 5, 1946. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph Winston Woodard, Sr. and Camille Dennis Woodard of Suffolk, Va., grandparents Maurice Winfield Dennis, Sr. and Bessie Dandridge Christian Dennis, aunts Miriam Dennis Dorman of Portsmouth, Va., Julia Dennis Bowen of Chesapeake, Va., and Bessie Dennis of Suffolk, Va., uncles Maurice Winfield Dennis, Jr., Karl Christian Dennis, Sr., and William Michael Dennis, and cousin Judy Ricks all of Portsmouth, Va.
She is survived by her husband, Louie Guy Johnson of Virginia Beach, Va., their son Michael Leland of Philadelphia, PA., daughter Elizabeth Love Oswald and her husband, Matthew, and their children Teagan Emery and Holden James of Virginia Beach, Va., her aunt Myrtle Dennis Crim and her cousin Linda Garland and husband, Wilson, all of Portsmouth, Va.
She graduated from Mary Washington College with a Bachelor of Science degree and received her certification in the American Society of Clinical Pathology from The University of Virginia. She met her husband and the love of her life at Virginia Beach General Hospital where they both worked. They spent 35 beautiful years together. She was an avid sports fan, a breast cancer survivor, and a lover of the water. She worked tirelessly and loved her job as a real estate appraiser for the last 12 years.
