Carter W. Bryant

Chesapeake - CARTER WAYNE BRYANT, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 59 on Monday, November 4, 2013 after a long hard battle with leukemia and graft vs. host disease. He served in the U.S. Navy for ten years and subsequently became the Director of Operations/Program Manager for General Dynamics' field office in Chesapeake, VA. He is survived by his wife Virginia, his son Jason and his daughter Chrystal (husband Daniel Pelzel), both of whom live locally, as well as another son, Christopher and daughter Nicole (husband Philip Berryhill) who live out of state. He is also survived by his mother Carole Bryant, a sister Shawn (husband Timothy Pearce) and a brother Charles "Chuckie" Bryant. He was the beloved grandfather of Seth, Gabriel, Aidan, Hannah and Gibson, and uncle of Nicholas Pearce.

The family would like to thank all friends and neighbors for their prayers and support during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends and neighbors through a Celebration of Life gathering at the home of Carter and Virginia Bryant on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m.
