Capt. David Brown
Chesapeake - Capt. David Brown, US Navy Retired, 72, of Chesapeake passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, 2 daughters and their families including 3 grandchildren, a sister and her family, and many cousins.
Capt. Brown had a very distinguished career, serving the US Navy for 30 years. He was an avid American history buff and enjoyed astronomy. After retirement, Capt. Brown honed his skills and love of fine woodworking, becoming a master craftsman. He has designed and built many fine pieces of furniture and children's toys, which his family considers true works of art and treasured heirlooms. Dave will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 15, in Saint Bede Catholic Church, Williamsburg, VA. At a later date (to be determined), interment and ceremony with military honors will be held in Arlington National Ceremony, Capt. Brown's final resting place.
