Ernest Wesley Glover Jr.
Norfolk - On April 5, 2013, Ernest W. "Wes" Glover, Jr., 55, entered his Heavenly home. Born on March 1, 1958 in Charleston, SC, to a Navy family, they moved many times before settling in Norfolk in 1966. He attended Booker T. Washington High School and developed an interest in culinary arts. Wes' zest for life prompted him to move to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. taking a job in the kitchen of "The Mermaid," thus beginning a 30yr career with the Neiman Marcus Group and their restaurants. He retired in 2012 as Manager of "The Zodiac" in Ft. Worth, TX. He loved doing his job, loved his staff, the atmosphere of fine dining and was rewarded with numerous top reviews by culinary experts and published recipes. His home was his passion, tending to his yard meticulously or hosting friends at the holidays, it was where he enjoyed being. He loved art in all forms and could jump into character from any movie at any time. He had many friends who loved him, but to his special friends in Ft. Worth: Jan Aziz , Terry Fish & Harold Swoape, Eric Hughes & Robert Pelham, (who adopted Wes' beloved dog, Chloe) and Dot McKenzie, we would like to express our deepest thanks for you being such great friends to Wes for all of these years. You will forever be in our hearts, as he is in yours. Preceded in death by his father, Ernest "Luke" Glover, Sr., SCPO USN RET. and a beloved sister, Linda McLaughlin, survivors include his Mother, Evelyn Glover; Brothers: Chris, Phillip (Catherine) Norfolk, Glen (Melissa) Suffolk; Sisters: Diane Davis (Andy) Chesapeake, Allison Glover- Norfolk; Nieces and Nephews: Wendy, Michael & Erin (Linda), Luke & Jessica (Diane), Steven (Glen), Cassie, Peter & Mateo (Allison) and many aunts, uncles & cousins. Wes was a wonderful son, brother and uncle. We will miss him always until we are all together once again in heaven. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
