Harold Washington Rawls Jr.

Portsmouth - 61, passed away on March 27, 2014. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. Harold was retired as a pipefitter/welder from the Newport News Shipyard. He was a member of New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville and a member of the New Horizon Choir. While serving in the United States Marine Corp., Harold was a Drill Sergeant and a Squad Leader. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Roberta Cooper; six sisters, Michelle Rawls, Brenda Rawls Ramsey (Eugene), Mazie Rawls, Sharon Godwin, Carolyn Whitaker (Toney) and Adreine Williams; a special friend, Kavi Polite; and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville. Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
