James W. Robinson Jr.
Norfolk - James White Robinson, Jr. "Skinny", born May 12, 1934 to the late James White Robinson, Sr. and Pearl Eaton Robinson in the city of Norfolk, VA. He loved his parents dearly. He was educated in the Norfolk Public School System with further education in the U.S. Air Force, from which he retired with over 22 years of service. He was the widower of his late wife, Cynthia Bassett Robinson and father of his late son, Leon Robinson.
He was low-keyed, quiet, mannerly, very kind, and most generous to all. He also loved fishing, cooking, playing pool, and dressing well. He will be missed by his many childhood friends here in Norfolk, as well as his friends and neighbors in Bangor, Maine, of which was his home for over 25 years.
He is survived by his sister, Majoria J. Robinson and brother, Deacon Paul W. Robinson, Sr. of Norfolk; one nephew and one niece.
A service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at Queen Street Baptist Church in Norfolk with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Hale Funeral Home. www.halefuneralhome.com
