Jerome Alston
Norfolk - Jerome Alston was born on February 16, 1964 and passed away December 18, 2012. Jerome was a graduate of Lake Taylor High School, Norfolk, VA and Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA. He recently was near completion of the certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies at Cambridge College, Chesapeake, VA. He was a science teacher and volleyball coach at Craddock Middle School, Portsmouth, VA. He was also a mentor to young men and started the program "Men of Distinction". Jerome is a member of Gamma XI Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Spring 89. Jerome leaves to cherish his life, his wife Yolanda Alston; two daughters, Whitney N. Alston and Madison A. Alston; his parents, Barbara and Clarence White of Norfolk, VA and Willie Alston of Wilmington, DE; grandmother, Elizabeth Taylor of Norfolk, VA. He also leaves two sisters, DeAndra Burney of Norfolk, VA; Felicia Randolph of Richmond, VA and one brother Phillip Alston of Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his brother Anthony G. Alston and his grandmother, Naomi Paul. A funeral will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, December 22, 2012, Bethany Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Family receiving friends, 6-8pm, Friday, December 21, 2012 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Portsmouth. Interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
