Phyllis T. Porter
Virginia Beach - Phyllis Tillett Porter, 80, of the 4500 block of William Pitt Ln., died Jan. 9, 2013.
She was born in Norfolk, VA and was the daughter of the late MacDouglas Tillett and Elsie Parron Tillett. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin L. Porter, Sr. She was a secretary for Cox Powell Corp.
Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Leslie A. Braunstein and husband Marty of New Jersey; 2 sons, Alvin Porter and wife Patti of Virginia Beach and Michael Porter and partner Dan Herrle of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Amy, Tim, Alex and Caroline of New Jersey and Tricia, Kelli and Alison of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel by Pastor Kathleen Haynes. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medi Home Health & Hospice or to Atlantic Shores Seaside Employee Fund. I was so sorry to hear about your Mothers passing. I knew her quite a few years ago when we first moved to the Hampton Roads area. I'm sure she will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Louis and I are very sorry to hear about Phyllis. We lived next door to them on Beach Street and had a good time doing things together. We will miss her.
