Willard William Wentz III
Virginia Beach - Willard William Wentz III, "Big Bill", 50, passed away on July 14, 2013 after a courageous 14 month battle with cancer. He was born on June 5, 1963 in Danville, VA to Dr. William Wentz Jr. and Patricia Collie Barksdale. Bill graduated from G.W. High School in Danville in 1981 where he received All-State honors as a lineman for the Eagles. After that he attended Fork Union Military Academy where he also played football under the post-grad program. Bill spent the last 30 years employed as a tire and then commercial truck salesman. His current position was sales manager for Colonial Truck of Chesapeake.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 28 years, Terri Ferguson Wentz; two sons, Will IV and Chad; sister Kellie Wentz, and a big "second family" on the Ferguson side.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Bayside Presbyterian Church, 1400 Ewell Rd, Va Beach. A reception will follow immediately after in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Memorial Chad Wentz Scholarship Fund" at any TowneBank or to the . Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements.
