Portsmouth - Willie E. Davis, 85 departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife, Margie R. Hayes Davis; his father Elzonia Davis and mother Vera Alease Debnam-Davis; sister, Doris Stone; brothers, Eddie Davis, Jone Debnam, Jerry Davis, Jimmy Davis, and Larry Davis. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, April Davis Anderson; sons, Arnold D. Pines & Michael L. Pines; brother, Carl Davis and sisters, Geraldine Banks, Kay Francis, BettyJefferson,CarolynRichardson,andKaren

"Lorli" Taybron. Dave, as he was known, was a World War II Veteran serving 25 years in the Navy. He also served 22 years at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard retiring as a Weight Handler Rigger Supervisor. He was a member of King David Masonic Lodge, Past Potentate of Shrine Temple "Sudan 102"and a member of Mount Herman Baptist Temple serving in the Music Ministry. Brother Dave was an avid giver and fisherman, who continuously demonstrated enormous for his family and church. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend a special thanks and acknowledgement to the staff of Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth in the Emergency Room and Ward 3b for the professional and personal care rendered to our Loved One. Each time admitted his was treated like a family member!

A life celebration service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 31, at the Mount Hermon Baptist Temple, 2901 London Blvd. Portsmouth, VA. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Chesapeake. The viewing will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services Chesapeake.
