I used to be Robert's (Mr. Bob as we all called him) banker when he worked at Wal Mart. I just heard about the news from my former co-worker. He was the nicest guy. I enjoyed talking to him. I spoke with him every day. There was always something to talk about. He had a great head on his shoulders. He would even give my co-workers and I candy from time to time. Mr. Bob will be missed.

Bob litterally saved our lives. My son and I were very lucky for his kindess and bravery that day. We've been friends every since. It broke my heart and saddened me deeply to hear of his passing. I feel like I just saw him smiling and so full of life. We're going to miss him terribly.

Lucy and family, I just returned from shopping at Walmart, where I worked until just recently, and saw the memorial for Bob. I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my father in March, and not living near him, was very hard to cope in a new city, with no friends around. After I returned from my father's funeral, Bob was so kind, helpful and sweet. Everyday he would ask how I was doing and would give me a hug. He helped me so much during that time. I know the emptiness you feel, but your husband, father, grandfather, was truly an angel on earth. I will miss him terribly. My sincere condolences.

Dear Daddy, I never imagined that you would no longer be here on this earth. For some reason I thought you would be here forever. Well, I guess it was your time to go and be with your dad in heaven but it's so hard for me to let go. I want you here so badly but I know that you are no longer feeling pain and that now you can breathe without discomfort and for that I am grateful. I just wish I had a little more time with you so I can hug you and tell you I love you again and see your billion dollar smile. Thank you for being the best father, the best husband to my mom, the best grandpa. You are a rare breed daddy. You have left your stamp on this earth forever! I love you!!

As I read all of the beautiful messages sent about my father tears of pride fall down my cheeks. I have always know how kind and caring my Daddy had been but it warms my heart to know that others share this feeling as well. Thank you to all who have kept our family in their thoughts and prayers. The next time you meet a stranger, smile and say hello and think of "Mr. Bob".

Dear Bastidas Family,
I walked into the Walmart, saw a picture of Bob, and nearly fell to my knees. I just could not believe it. Bob worked with my husband, Scott Knowles, and my dad, Jimmy Lane, at the telephone company. My husband Scott (Bob called him Scottie) drowned in 2004 at age 37. Lucy, you may remember us! Bob was always caring and concerned about me and my children! He was a wonderful man, loved by all! My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rest in peace, Bob. You will be missed.

It is hard to sit here and write this when I just saw you the other night. I want to thank you for allowing me to come around your home when we lived in Wadsworth. You were always kind to me and I respect that and respect you. I will definately miss seeing you walking up the aisles and standing at the entrance at Walmart. But the LORD had greater things for you so he called you home. You will definately be missed. But your spirit will live on forever!
