Donald Byrd Obituary

Donald L. Byrd Sr. EDENTON - Donald Lee Byrd Sr., 72, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010. He was a Virginia native and the son of the late Charles and Edna Byrd. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Byrd. Survivors include his three sons, Donald Lee Byrd Jr. and his girlfriend Ola Ann Groves, Adam Troy Byrd and his wife Sharon and Robert Michael Sims and his wife Jamie; two daughters, Veronica Prado and Jennifer Michele Hansen and her husband Alvin; two brothers, Charles Ray Byrd and Eugene Byrd; two sisters, Carolynn Jung and Beatrice Wilson; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Samuel Lewis. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
