Mary Mullen BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mary Mullen, 91, of the 700 block Macon St., Brooklyn, N.Y., departed this life Oct. 6, 2011. Born April 30, 1920 in Camden, N.C., she was employed as seamstress until her retirement. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rosa Mullen, and her sisters, Marion Grant and Helen Cheeks. Survivors include, one sister, Claudine Bishop (Joseph) of Chesapeake; one niece, Marion Grant of Norfolk; two great-nieces, Aisha Davis of Portsmouth, and Brittney Beagle of South Carolina; and one great-great niece; her caregiver and domestic partner, Edward "Eddie" Henderson of Brooklyn; two Godsons, Roscoe C. Pretlow (Esther) of Chesapeake and E. Marce Mason Jr. (Maribel) of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and a host of cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph AME Church, 1540 Atlantic Ave., Chesapeake. Interment will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
