James Lunde Obituary
Chesapeake - James "Jim" Gordon Lunde, 82, passed away August 5, 2016. Jim was born in Madison, SD to the late George and Julia Lunde; besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Helen Braun and brother, Gerald Lunde. He was a member of Grace Lutheran and employed with Norfolk Naval Shipyard and retired after 30 years as a Planner Estimator. Jim also served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband and father, he is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Edna Hobbs Lunde; son, James G. Lunde, Jr. and his wife, Beth; grandchildren, Stephen and Samantha Lunde; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Monday, August 8 , 2016 from 6-7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 521 Providence Road, Chesapeake with Rev. Leslie D. Scanlon officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens with military honors. Condolences to the Lunde Family and Everlasting Life to Jim. When it asks for memories I have one that I never Forgot. If this is the Jim Lunde that lived on Merrimac Rd in Swanson Homes in the 1940s your Father had a sedan that on the rear panel had letters about 3 inches tall that spelled out " be sure your sins will find you out".Along that verse your family was going shopping and I believe it was your mother who told us she would give us a penney for every fly we killed in the house. We started swatting but we were running out of flies so we opened the screen in one of the windows and really started adding pennies. your mother came home and was surprised, but true to your fathers sign, your mother saw we had forgot to close the screen. your fathers sign on his car was never so true. I love the good olde times. Is this that James Lunde,Im sure God forgave us
