Bob Jaronczyk

Robert John Jaronczyk WILLIAMSBURG - Robert John "Bob" Jaronczyk, 63, passed away Oct. 9, 2010 in his home. He was born July 18, 1947 to Henry and the late Lillian Jaronczyk in Portsmouth. He is survived by his father, Henry; his wife of 29 years, Ellen; sons, Morgan Hobbs (Lesley) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Forrest Hobbs (Kara) of Seattle; sisters, Sharon Jaronczyk of Virginia Beach and Patricia Rose (Buddy) of Decatur, Ala.; and grandchildren, Alexandra, Blake, Andrew and Matthew. Bob graduated from Maury High School and East Carolina University. He was an outstanding teacher and coach at Churchland High School in Portsmouth until 1979. He positively influenced the lives of many young people both in the classroom and on the field. Bob recently retired from Jostens as director of sales of the Ring Division. He was honored with the prestigious Legends Award for his 28 years of exemplary service to the company. As a young boy, Bob attended the Colonial Boys Club in Norfolk everyday, where he acquired skills and values that he used throughout his life. During his high school and college years, Bob played multiple sports and attended college on an athletic scholarship. Later in life, he was an avid golfer and found great joy playing the game whenever possible. He was immensely proud to have made six holes-in-one. Bob will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his dedication to his work and his loyalty to his friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Bob had a kind and gentle spirit and a heart almost as big as the man himself. A memorial service will be held in Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Saturday Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America at www.bgca.org.
