Audrey H. McMullan KITTY HAWK - Audrey Heath McMullan, 82, of the 3800 block of Moor Shore Road, Kitty Hawk, and formerly of Elizabeth City, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at W.R. Winslow Memorial Home. Born in Craven County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Sallie Ward Heath and was the wife of the late C.O. McMullan. Mrs. McMullan received her associate's degree from Mars Hill Junior College and later received her bachelor's degree from East Carolina University. Upon completing her education, she then worked as a teacher in the public school systems of Mecklenburg and Pasquotank counties for 30 years until retirement. She was a member of First Christian Church in Elizabeth City, a member of Pine Lakes Country Club and was an avid golfer. Mrs. McMullan is survived by a daughter, Wanda A. McMullan of Kitty Hawk; a brother, William H. Heath of Laurel, Md.; a granddaughter, Michelle Dana Collier and husband Brian of Falls Church, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Hugh Montgomery "Monty" Jolley III; a brother, Rodney T. Heath; and a niece, Monica H. King. A funeral will take place Saturday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, with the Rev. Perry Turner officiating. Burial will be in Old Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home.
