Genelle Weatherly Obituary
Virginia Beach - Genelle Watt Weatherly, 92, of 1113 Livorno Court, Atlantic Shores Retirement Village, Virginia Beach, VA, died Friday evening, December 6, 2013, at Seaside-Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Willow Hill, Illinois, September 21, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Chauncey Don and Bernice Ireland Watt. She was married to Earl R. Weatherly who survives. She spent her working years working as a receptionist for Indian Refining Company, now Texaco. She lived in Media, PA for thirty years and in Canada for a year, later to Philadelphia and then in Manteo NC until moving to Atlantic Shores in retirement. She was a member of Nimmo United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at the gravesite in the Bodwell-West Cemetery, Columbia, N. C. on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Steve Bryan will officiate.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Robert J. Weatherly and wife, Lynn of Big Pine Key, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn H. Weatherly of Poquoson, VA; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Don Ellis Weatherly who died November 25, 2002.
