Scott P. Slaterback
Norfolk - Scott Philip Slaterback, 41, of Bay Front Drive passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013. Scott was born on Oct. 22, 1971 in Mineola, New York.
Scott was the loving son of Richard and Jane Slaterback; he is also survived by his loving sister, Kristine (Allen) Slaterback and special Aunt Joyce Sweet, predeceased by his Aunt Karen. He was a Father figure for Tabatha Curran and he leaves to cherish his memory Lisa Curran.
Scott a former resident of Huntington, Long Island, New York. He was a Paramedic with Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. He loved Martial Arts and was a 2nd Degree Black belt; he enjoyed sailing and loved to dabble in many different projects.
Scott graduated from Tidewater Tech. A&P School in Norfolk. He studied Practical Nursing in Toms River, NJ . He was a Certified Mechanic in marine engines. Scott had recently graduated from TCC Nursing Bridge Course and was excited to begin a new stage of his life
Scott was a 911 rescuer at the Twin Towers where he was an on site EMT with evacuations.
Friends may join the family on Thursday, October 10, between 2 and 4 p.m. at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. The funeral will be conducted at chapel at 4 p.m. by Pastor Jim Christopher. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
