Sheldon Parker Obituary
Suffolk - Sheldon Scott Parker, 50, passed away May 14, 2013. He was born on September 22, 1962 in Odenton, MD. Sheldon was a 1981 graduate of York High School. He worked for Dominion Virginia Power as an operational supervisor for 32 years. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Victoria Canty and his paternal grandfather, James H. Parker, Sr. He is survived by his parents, Garnell and James H. Parker, Jr.; his wife, Charylyne Parker; two daughters, Francesca Parker of Virginia Beach and Nukeya Walker (Justin) of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Sheldon Parker of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffery Parker of Virginia Beach, VA and stepson, Kenneth Mass of Augusta, GA; five sisters, Karen Myrick (Raymond) of Suffolk, VA; Wynne Dunlap (Todd) of Portsmouth, VA, Angela Parker of Hampton, VA, Jocelyn Parker of Hampton, VA and Brittney Parker of Woodbridge, VA; a brother, Jeffery Parker (Tasha) of Hampton, VA; grandmother, Alma Parker of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Kameron Dyer of Suffolk, VA and a cousin whom he loved like a brother, Robert Nock of Baltimore, MD , nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held, 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, 5605 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23701; Brother Todd Dunlap, Officiating. A wake service will be held, 5-7pm, Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com

I was shocked and saddened to hear of this friend's passing. Though I cannot be there in person, know that my thoughts and prayers are with the family. Sheldon was such a great person, easy to like, and his legacy is that he never turned down a helping hand to someone who needed help......he is sorely missed but loving "New" life with the Lord. God bless the family, draw strength from HIM who loves us.
