Alma Sistrunk Obituary

Alma Devela Sistrunk NORFOLK - Alma Devela Sistrunk, 70, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive passed away Oct. 10, 2010 in her home. She was born Aug. 9, 1940 in Blounts Creek, N.C., and was a 1956 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Berkley. Alma was a retired cosmetologist. She was predeceased by her father, A. Cicero Moore Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Otessa Edmonds and Sharon Wilson (Paul); two sons, Otis Sistrunk Jr. and Bruce Handy; her mother, Josephine Moore; one sister, Doris Parker; five brothers, Archie Moore, Samuel Moore (Eva), Gene Moore (Vivian), Linwood Moore (Linda) and Robert Moore (Pearl); 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friends, Brenda Andrews and Orlando Simon; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel. Dr. James Webb II will officiate. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Watch service live online at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
