Amor V. Avila

Virginia Beach - Amor Villanueva Avila, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013.

Born in Caloocan City, Philippines, she was an active long-time member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Celerino and Aurora Villanueva; and two sisters, Carmelita and Ma. Aurora. She was a faithful member of the International Order of Alhambra, Padul Caravan as a Sultana.

Left to cherish Amor's memory: husband, Arturo L. Avila; three children, Maria Lasher and husband Arnold, Gigi Greene and husband Terry, and James Avila; four grandchildren, Angelica Lasher, Tyrus, Kylie and Olivia Greene; a great-grandson, Brendon; three sisters, Corazon Plaza, Angeles Villaceran, and Resurrecion; and a brother, Romeo C. Villanueva and wife Nellie; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Monday, December 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, in the church sanctuary by Rev. Fr. John Abe. Arrangements are under the direction of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
