Amy P. Fahr-Hribal VIRGINIA BEACH - Amy Philips Fahr-Hribal died April 14, 2010 in Virginia Beach, at age 63. She was born April 19, 1946 to the late Merle and Joyce Phillips-Fahr in Osceola Mills, Pa., and graduated from Philipsburg-Osceola High School in 1964. She married Samuel Hribal of Uniontown, Pa., June 20, 1970 in Oxon Hill, Md. They lived in Maryland and Alexandria, Va., then moved to Virginia Beach in 2004. In addition to Amy's parents, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Clair and Hazel Britten-Phillips; her paternal grandparents, Charles Fahr and Newton Albert and Ophelia Rowin-Fahr-Albert; and baby sister, Tonya Joy Fahr. Amy is survived by her husband of their home; seven siblings and their spouses: Judy Fahr-Yarger and her husband Ronald of Osceola Mills, Larry Fahr and his wife Sue of Osceola Mills, Eileen Fahr-Powers and her fiancé Rey Quebral of Annandale, Va., James Fahr and his wife Beverly of Houtzdale, Pa., Jeffrey Fahr and his wife Kimberly of Osceola Mills, Lesa Fahr-Lupton and her husband Robert of Philipsburg, Pa., and Pamela Fahr-Kline and her husband Robert of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by two other brothers-in-law, William Powers of Virginia Beach and Franco Erspamer of Santa Monica, Calif.; special granddaughters (actually nieces), Olya Kline and Masha Kline of Virginia Beach; nieces, nephews (and their children), David Powers and his wife Laurie of Chesapeake (Logan and Kyla), Eric Powers and his wife Sandee of Virginia Beach (Caroline and Cole), Monica Kline of Phoenix, Ariz., Zach Quebral of Jacksonville, Fla., and Judy Amos of Santa Monica. Amy worked for the federal government in Washington, D.C., for 30 years, specifically the FBI, the Labor Department and the Department of Transportation, retiring as a legislative assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation. Amy and her husband were two of the original members of the Team Turtle sports car racing club that competed at various Sports Car Club of America races. They also competed in and helped organize whitewater canoe races for more than 20 years. Amy was of the Christian faith and attended Protestant and Catholic churches. She loved her family and friends, canoeing, camping, fishing, bicycling, growing herbs and roses, painting watercolors, recording the family genealogy and running her Mom's and her Dad's family reunions for many years in central Pennsylvania.
