Benjamin Simmons

Benjamin Simmons VIRGINIA BEACH - Benjamin Curtis Simmons, 74, passed away suddenly April 7, 2010 in a local hospital. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a very active sponsor for many people that he helped in AA. He volunteered for the Red Wings Hockey Team. He previously had worked for Phillip Morris in Richmond, Va. Mr. Simmons was the retired vice president of Sea Port Marine Corp., and was the president of Ocean Pearl Trading Company of Virginia Beach. He loved the beach, especially in Hatteras, N.C., where he loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Brenda Simmons; four children, Aimee Simmons of Virginia Beach, Steve Simmons and his wife Chantal of Rodanthe, N.C., Kelly Clark of Virginia Beach, and Kim Palese and her husband Michael of Chesapeake; one sister, Ann Barron of Brighton, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Sarah Clark, Brendan Clark, Sydney Palese, Dylan Palese, Jessica Palese, and Alex Benjamin Simmons; as well as numerous extended family members and good friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 9, at 2 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G.
