Charles Edward Daniel

Chesapeake - Charles Edward Daniel, 75, of the 100 block of Shore Sound Drive Currituck, died April 29, 2014 in Chesapeake. Mr. Daniel was born in Norfolk the son of the late Robert L. Daniel and Dorcas C. Daniel. He was an employee of the City of South Norfolk and Chesapeake, Chuck was one of the first Chesapeake Public Saftey Officers later retiring from the Chesapeake Police Division after more than Thirty years. In his life long career with the City, his first love was the traffic division and motorcycle unit. His favorite saying was "I got paid to ride a Harley Davidson". He was a member of the Chesapeake FOP Lodge; Fifty year member of the Great Bridge Masonic Lodge; and the Portsmouth Scottish Rite and Kedive Shrine Temple.

Survivors include his beloved wife of Fifty Two years, Lynda Daniel, Three sons; Rad and wife Kristi, Chris and wife Jenny and David, his four cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Brittany, Lindsey and Colby. He is also survived by a sister, Norma D. Richards as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday May 3, at the Chesapeake Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments by the Reverend Ken Barnes. Burial with Masonic Rites will be held at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
