Charlie R. Beck
Norfolk - Charlie "Pa" Robert Beck, 90, passed away January 26, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Beck was born in High Point, NC to the late Ira and Ruth Mitchell Beck. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, having served in the US Navy for over 31 years as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Beck was a founding member of the Golden Wheels Motorcycle Club, and a master metalsmith. He was predeceased by his wife Exie Beck.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Sue Humphrey and son-in-law Doug Humphrey of Chesapeake, Yolanda Keiler of Norfolk, and Judy Hewitt of NC; brothers, Joe, Arnold and James Beck; grandchildren, Daniel Humphrey, Tawny Humphrey, Kevin Lale and wife Michelle, and Jason Lale; great grandchildren, Jeremy and Haley Lale, Dalton and Caroline Humphrey; and very close friend, Buck Buchanan.
The family will be celebrating Mr. Becks life on Friday at 4:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans (www.DAV.org) or to a veteran's . Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
