Christine Sullivan VIRGINIA BEACH - Christine Thibodeau McElman Sullivan, 96, of the Little Neck area of Virginia Beach, passed away June 2, 2009. She was born to the late Theodore Thibodeau and Myra Hanna Thibodeau in the pilot house in Harmon's Harbor in the coastal village of Georgetown, Maine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Joseph McElman. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn McElman Frizzell and her husband Norman of Virginia Beach; her son, George McElman and his wife Judy of Brunswick, Maine; and her daughter, Stephanie Sullivan of Northborough, Mass. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jane Frizzell Snell and her husband Dwayne, Jon Frizzell and Jeffrey Frizzell of Virginia Beach, Peter McElman of Standish, Maine and Marta McElman Choquette of Brunswick, Maine. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Tyler Snell Midgett and her husband Michael, as well as Bradley, Clayton and Grace Frizzell of Virginia Beach and Matthew Frizzell of Norfolk, Ryan Choquette, Colby, Hunter and Richard McElman of Brunswick and Melissa McElman of Macon, Ga. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren, Reese and Fisher Midgett of Virginia Beach, Payton Grace McElman of Macon, Ga., and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. A descendant of sea captains, lighthouse keepers and lobster fisherman, Gram told her children and grandchildren "facts" about the family's history, as well as stories of growing up and raising her family on the coast of Maine. We will all remember to pass these priceless tales down to future generations. What a privilege to have five generations of women together for the past few years. We love you Gram and we will all miss your quick wit and your hilarious commentary. The family will gather privately to celebrate Gram's long and happy life. Cremation Society of Virginia, Hampton Roads office, is assisting the family.
