Christopher Blanchard Obituary

Christopher Blanchard VIRGINIA BEACH - Christopher Dominic Blanchard, 30, lost his life Monday afternoon in a single car accident in Southeastern Louisiana. He is survived by his son, the love of his life, Jon Curtis Blanchard; his fiancée, Cristi Adams and the mother of his young son Shawnna Blanchard; his mother, Cynthia Murawski and stepfather Thomas Szalkai, his father and stepmother, Jean and Sarah Blanchard; siblings, Amber Blanchard-Mandel and Virginia and Joshua Blanchard; his grandmothers, Joyce Curtis and Annette Gamble; and nieces and nephew, Jenna Webb and Braydon Mandel. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jon Curtis, Gordon Gamble and Sidney Blanchard. Christopher had recently embarked on a new career in New Orleans area of Louisiana, which provided him with the chance to reconnect and visit with numerous family members and attend his beloved Saints football games. His love of the city and its unique lifestyle were the perfect place for him to begin his new life. While growing up in Virginia Beach, Christopher formed many lasting friendships and was able to develop his artistic talents and love of tattooing, which many of his friends are fortunate enough to display today. His wonderful smile and incredible laughter will be deeply missed by all the friends and family members he leaves behind. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. in the New Life Church at Great Bridge, 1116 Hillwell Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Condolences may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.

There are so many words that we could say, but none that haven't already been said. You were truly a person that lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every second of it all. I think that is one thing that those left behind should remember and learn from. There is more than one story that we could tell about you, memories made that will never be forgotten. But they all seem to go back to just remembering the wonderful, vivacious person that you were. Whether hanging out at a concert or shooting the breeze talking tattoos, it was always a good time to just be around you. You will always be in our hearts, and you will never be forgotten!

Chris this world really isn't the same without you in it. I will miss riding horses and just hanging out with you and Cristi out there in Suffolk - you could always make me or anyone around you smile no matter what was happening. I am so thankful that I got to be one of your friends because you touched my life in a positive way. I know that although you are not here with us you are will always be with us all in our hearts and we were all blessed to have shared a part of our lives with you. May you always rest in peace and look over all of us down here. Miss you!

The world could use more people like Chris instead of losing them. The guy was all heart. I remember the first time I met him he offered me a job if I wasnt makin a living wage. Ha! We all hung out that night at Cari's like we had been friends for years. It was a real shock to us to hear that he had passed. We will miss him.

I remember that time Chris basically saved Franks life, I think its one of the best things that has ever happened to me, I own Chris so much and I wish he was still here so I could tell him how much I appreciate the person he was and how much I love him. He was one of the most amazing people I have ever known and he had a way about him that made you smile and laugh even on your worst day. Cristi I'm so happy you had the change to love him and be with him the way you did. He will be missed greatly and he will always have a place in my heart.

Christopher, there is never a moment of the day where I am that I am not thinking of you. I look at the horses, I think of you, I look at our old house, I think of you, I look at the wedding plans, I think of you. I miss you very very much and I will never get over my greatest loss ever. You where truely the greatest man I have ever met, & ever let love me the way I needed to be loved, and taught me to let me be loved the way you wanted to. I look at your pictures and sit in shock because you are gone. I miss you so much that it is a very sad empty feeling. My tears are endless and my dreams are vanished. My hopes and dreams where with you...I love you. I miss you.

Chris, having lost a son myself, I know what your family is going through right now, especially your mother. You were loved by those who knew you. Your mission here on Earth is done, but God had one for you there with Him. My heartfelt wishes go to your entire family, and I pray God will comfort them, and their hearts. RIP

Christopher, Thirty years ago, you came into this world bright eyed and wearing a smile. You were ready to meet the world head on and that is exactly what you did. I am so proud of what you accomplished and the lives that you touched. You were loved by so many!! Your family and friends have heavy hearts now as they deal with your loss, but we will get through this as we share your memory and know we will see you again. Thank you for your parting gift to me of a renewed relationship and a beautiful new niece. Be at peace.
