Christopher Martin Obituary

Christopher W. Martin VIRGINIA BEACH - Christopher William Martin, 23, of Newport News, passed away Oct. 13, 2010 in Riverside Regional Medical Center. A native of Harrisburg, Pa., he was a member of the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps of Fort Mill, S.C., where he played euphonium and was a finalist in three world championships. He also played clarinet with Tidewater Winds and was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop No. 471. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Darlene Martin; two sisters, Amanda McCullah of Chesapeake and Laurel Martin of Virginia Beach; his fiancée, Chloe Maveal of Newport News; and his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Kathryn Warren of Hanover, Pa. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Mary Jean Martin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Sunday at 6 p.m. in The Catholic Church of St. Mark with the Rev. James Griffin officiating and he will be assisted by the Rev. David Pierce. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, 5511 Staples Mill Road Suite, 202B Richmond, VA 23228 or www.Leukemia-Lymphoma. org.
