Curtis Fain Obituary

Curtis Denzil Fain EDEN - Curtis D. Fain of Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, formerly of Eden, N.C., passed away at his home Friday evening Sept. 17, 2010. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Curtis was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina, to the late Wesley and Sarah Fain. Mr. Fain was retired from the U.S. Navy and Virginia Beach City School System. Mr. Fain is survived by his wife, Sylvia S. Fain of the home; daughters, Dixie F. Newton and husband Shawn of Cooper City, Fla., Janice L. Fain of Richmond, Sarah L. Fain of Virginia Beach; stepdaughters, Susan Lawrence of Elon, N.C., Cynthia M. Lawson of Chesapeake; sisters, Gracie Jefferson and late husband Bradford and Patsy Farmer and husband Raymond all of Eden, N.C.; granddaughters, Avalee D. Findley, Lucille M. Findley, Marlene D. Hyder, Nicole Newton, Jessica E. Newton, Kaela B. Fain, Lori Powell, Amanda M. Carson; grandsons, Daniel L. Findley, Chance Lawrence, Jeremy J. Luzier; great-granddaughters, Holly and Jessica Hyder, Savannah and Madalynn Powell, Elena Lawrence, Marcella Carson; great- grandson, Charles Weinsek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Violet F. Findley. Following the funeral, visitation will be at the home of sister-in-law Doris Hopper, 134 N. Dear Sylvia & Sarah, I was at DAC on Saturday and heard about Curtis's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. God be with you and give you precious memories in the weeks and months to come.
