Dalphine More Obituary

Dalphine More
norfolk - Dalphine "Sandy" Newlun More
peacefully entered into eternal peace surrounded by her three children on Friday, October 28, 2011 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 20, 1935 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late James Hamby and Irene Sauers. She was predeceased by her sister and two brothers; in addition to her husbands Ralph Eugene Newlun and David More, as well as her constant companion George J. Moulton.

She was a graduate of Granby High School, and a member of the VFW and Democratic Clubs. She also held a State of Virginia Contractor's License. She loved country music, working in her yard and home; but most of all caring for her family.

Sandy leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Stephen E. Newlun and Charles T. Newlun; her daughter, Kimberly L. Eskridge; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Newlun; two grandsons, Thomas John Newlun and Joshua Eugene Newlun; her sisters, Ella Faye Benzel and Jackie Bateman and brother, Kenneth Hamby, as well as many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

She was the most loving and giving mother, who loved us unconditionally, who always put others first and was always there for everyone. She will be forever loved, missed and remembered. Rest in Peace Mom.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Tidewater Drive Chapel is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
