Darrel Antrell Duke
Portsmouth - Darrel Antrell Duke, 21, received his wings on September 6, 2013 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Darrel was born on February 7, 1992 in Portsmouth, VA. He was educated in the Portsmouth School System and was a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School class of 2011.
Darrel was a member of New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 10 yrs. old. Darrel was also the percussion player for the church.
Darrel leaves to cherish his memories his mother Charlotte Duke-Jordan and Step-Father Tabari Jordan both of Portsmouth VA; one brother James McDaniel Jr.; one sister Carletta Jackson; five step-brother's Tabari Reid, Jamar Grant, Jaquan Grant, Keon Grant and Monterio Grant all of Portsmouth VA; grandmother Diane Wilson; step-grandparents Lonnie and Jeanette Jordan all of Portsmouth, VA; great-grandmother Marie S. Duke of Suffolk VA; two very special aunts Charlene Lotson (Roger) of Crescent, GA, and Shelia Duke of Suffolk, VA; God brother Steven L. Griffin III of Portsmouth, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
Special thanks to Pastor Dr. Milton R. Blount and the entire New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Family, Kristce Chappell Sentara Hospice Team Leader, Sentara Nursing Staff of 6K Pod2 and 6RP Pod 2, Juliet Boykins the entire I.C Norcom High School family and Cradock Middle School family.
A life celebration service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1000 County St. Portsmouth VA. Senior Pastor Dr. Milton R. Blount will be officiating. Viewing will be held Friday, September 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. The family has entrusted J.T.
