Delores Curles Obituary

Delores Lavon Curles CHESAPEAKE - Delores Lavon Curles, 71, passed away Nov. 11, 2010 in her home. A native of Coinjock, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Florence Griggs and the widow of Larry Curles. She retired as a bookkeeper with Arcet Welding Supply. She is survived by her two brothers, Colon Griggs of Aydlett, N.C., and Tony Griggs of Chesapeake; a niece, Lisa Waner of Hawaii; two brothers-in-law, Lynn Curles of Hertford, N.C., and Terry Curles of Hinton, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Jodi Briggs; a cousin, Marsha Ambrose of Chesapeake, and an aunt, Libby Hickman of Coinjock, N.C. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens with Pastor Matt Nettesheim officiating. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to American Cancer Society. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is handling the arrangements.

My family had the honor of meeting Ms.Curles when she was in rehab and shared a room with our mother Frances Edmundson.We only knew her for a short time but enjoyed visiting with her.Ms.Curles and our mom looked out for one another when we weren't able to be there.She was a sweet lady and we are so sorry for your loss.R.I.P. Ms.Curles
