Earl Kight Obituary

Earl Lee Kight CHESAPEAKE - Earl Lee Kight, 78, of the 1100 block of Lindale Drive, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Born in Norfolk County, Virginia, Earl was a mechanic for Turf and Garden and a member of Indian River Baptist Church. He loved antique engines and building and flying model airplanes. Earl is survived by his wife, Rose E. Kight; a sister, Jean Rodregues of Chicopee, Mass.; a brother, Henry Kight of Hartwell, Ga. He was predeceased by a brother, Reynold Kight and a sister, Audrey Kight. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour before services. Rose, Ann let me know about Earl. We are so very sorry to hear of his death. You two were very special friends of our family when you were here in our area and I will always remember the boat ride we took when I was a kid and the boat quit on us in the middle of the lake! Dad had to come to Satterwhite Point to pick up Mom and I. I remember crying because I wanted to stay with you'll and I can't remember if Uncle Jim rode back with us or stayed with Earl. I know Aunt Ruby thought the world of you'll. Take care of yourself and you are in our prayers.

I had the pleasure of talking with Mr Kight at the hospital. He was a nice man. My best wishes to his wife and family. Sorry for your loss.
