Edna Shell

Edna W. Shell VIRGINIA BEACH - Edna W. Shell passed away June 27, 2010 at her residence in Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley C. Shell Sr. and her son, Ronald Shell and her precious daughter, Flora W. Monell. She loved to do crafts and ceramics in Vilas, N.C., and brought her crafting with her to Florida where she met and learned new things with her lady crafters, Hilda, Miss Ellie, Mary, Flo and Anna. She served on several committees and was very involved in the Beaver Dam Womens Auxillary. She was a very active member of the Eastern Star before moving to North Carolina and recently received her 50th year pen from the Eastern Star. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Bill Williams and wife Steva, Wesley C. Shell Jr., Lynn Shell and wife Nancey; daughters, Janet W. Bobbitt, Julia Shell Davis and husband Tom, Denise Kim Frazier; one brother, Harry Flanigan of Florida; a sister- in-law, Doris Flanigan of Virginia Beach; her close friends, Richard "Peaches" and Jane McCloud of Atlanta, Ruth and Paul of Vilas, N.C.; 12 wonderful grandchildren; nine loving great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and her four-legged grandchildren, Patches Marie, Spike, Candy, Garth, Jesse and (Wyatt) Maverick, Bella and Heart and Miller. A visitation will be Thursday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
