Edward Law Breitner Obituary
Edward Law Breitner

Norfolk - Edward Law Breitner passed away January 15, 2014 after a brave struggle with illness in Muenster, Germany. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by family and friends. Edward was born May 30, 1955 to the late Carl Breitner and Alice Law Breitner in Phoenix, Arizona. He grew up in Norfolk and attended Norfolk Academy and Old Dominion University. Ed made his career as a computer network engineer working in Atlanta, Ga, Raleigh, NC, and Germany. For the last decade, Ed lived between Norfolk and Muenster.

Ed was fascinated by aeronautics and space travel, even earning his pilot's license before his driving license. Ed was a talented musician and always found an inside music niche wherever he lived. Most recently, he could be found at the weekly blues session in Muenster playing saxophone or guitar. Ed loved his family and friends and always kept in touch with his old friends. Ed lived life to the fullest and had a knack for surrounding himself with the most interesting characters wherever he traveled. And he loved traveling, whether in the US or Europe.

Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Breitner; his aunt, Mary Law, his half-brother and sister, John Breitner and Bina Breitner; and several cousins and in-laws. Ed was also survived by his uncle, the late William T. Law. A memorial service will be held at Ocean View Presbyterian Church at 9200 Tidewater Drive in Norfolk at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 22.
