Roberts in Virginia Beach. She fought six long years with stage 4 breast cancer and she was a trooper through it all. She was the daughter of Oscar Luther and Dorothy Elizabeth (Menz) Detar. She was wed to her devoted and loving husband Ronald Koebler on Dec. 19, 1953 who passed from this world three months ago. She started her remarkable career with Gregory Realty as a secretary, then pursued her real estate career. She and her partners, Newell Wayne Jarrett and Tommy Johnson opened Charter Realty Corp. She helped launched many new careers for agents and brokers and taught them that without ethics, their work was futile. She helped her family, friends and people she had never met with her compassionate heart. Betty loved researching her family roots and connected with many long lost relatives through her work in genealogy. With her new found family members, she was instrumental in organizing a Menz family reunion in Jeannette, Pa., where it all began. She worked with many charities especially Easter Seals, the
American Cancer Society, schools and foodbanks across the Tidewater area and where there was a will, there was a way for her to pull people together and work for a good cause.
