Ernest Lee Obituary

Ernest C. Lee Jr. COLERAIN - Ernest Cleveland Lee Jr., 88, of the 200 block of Brown Road, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Guardian Care of Ahoskie. Mr. Lee was born Dec. 18, 1921 in Bertie County, a son of the late Ernest C. and Eunice Brown Lee. Ernest was a loving husband to the late Myrtle Newbern Lee. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Mr. Lee was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945. He was an avid fisherman and loved to work in his garden. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Sheila C. Brinkley of Colerain, N.C.; a sister, Alice Evans of Winterville, N.C.; a brother, Earl B. Lee of Richmond; two grandchildren, Amy Roberts and husband Josh and Paul Cherry and wife Crystal, all of Ahoskie; two great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Klaire; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Highland Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Billy Presley officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church, 1325 Meadow Road., Colerain, NC 27924. The family will receive friends at the home. Garrett-Jones Funeral Home is serving the Lee family.
