Everette Fraser Obituary

Everette Fraser VIRGINIA BEACH - Everette "Otto" Fraser, 91, went to be with the Lord Nov. 17, 2010. He was born Nov. 27, 1918 in Southport, N.C., the son of the late Richard Clement and Geneva Norman Haskett Fraser. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Otto returned to work at Virginia Power working his way up the ladder, retiring with 41 years as shift supervisor. He was a fine carpenter, loved working crossword puzzles, reading and devouring papers and magazines. He was also an avid fisherman and gardener. Otto was preceded in death by his beloved and devoted wife of 69 years, Florence T. Fraser. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Harriette Laskin of Suffolk, Louise Forrest of Virginia Beach and Faye Behnke of Houston; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 21, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606 with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to your favorite charity in Otto's name. You may offer your condolences to the family at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com.
