Floyd Johnson Obituary

Floyd Johnson PORTSMOUTH - Floyd Johnson Sr., 87, of the 1400 block of Horne Ave., died Dec. 27, 2010 at his home. He was born in Courtland, Va., and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a rigger in Shop No. 72 after 29 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church Taylorsville and a volunteer driver of the Cavalier Manor P.C.R. Survivors include his wife, Eunice M. Johnson of Portsmouth; two daughters, Flora Johnson of Portsmouth and Eunice J. Thrower of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Kendra Boone (Chris) and Jaudon Johnson, both of Portsmouth, Silvanus Thrower of Richmond and Shonelle Ricks-Calhoun of Balitmore; seven great-grandchildren, Jarmea Pagan-Boone (Johnny) of Atlanta, Tenisha Boone of Tallahassee, Fla., Fabien Barnes-Johnson and Meshawn Boone, both of Portsmouth, Taylen, Tyrek and Phalisa Thrower, all of Richmond; great-great- granddaughter, Makayla Barnes-Johnson of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church Taylorsville, Portsmouth, with the Rev. Wynn presiding. Burial will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Veterans Gardens. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
